All things Laura, and all things Lomo :) |
just read this blog entry from a friend of a friend… couldn’t agree more… is chivalry dead?
i pride myself as being a fairly independent girl, not needing a man to do things for me, but i really miss (and want) things like this. i am a closet romantic, and although i put up the front that i am independent and happy to do things on my own, having a man show me he really cares by doing little swoon-worthy things melts my heart… not huge over the top romantic gestures, its the little things i love (and miss).
things like holding the door open, a man insisting he picks me up for a date, a romantic gesture here and there (all girls like flowers, no matter what they say). perhaps i forgot about this stuff because it has been such a long time since any man in my life has shown me any sort of romantic/chivalrous act.
so boys, if you are reading this, don’t forget that all ladies love to feel special. don’t forget that the little things mean more than those over the top, cliche, ‘romantic’ gestures… remember, you are all gentlemen, so look after your ladies.
oh and if bear grylls was to rescue me by building a makeshift canoe out of palm leaves and tree sap so we could escape the erupting volcano he so brazenly scaled to show me the most amazing view in the world, i too would be smitten… <3
